The Summer at the Casa de Mateus is once again the place of the bustle of music, its learning and enjoyment, with the return of the traditional and famous International Music Courses which since 1978 have been one of the most well-known and prestigious festivals of baroque music from Europe. Between August 12 and 18, in a particularly auspicious landscape, marked by one of the most beautiful palaces of the eighteenth century, more than three dozen musicians gather around the ideas of transmission and intensive study of instrument, voice and different chamber groupings on ancient and baroque music. Under the artistic direction of Ricardo Bernardes and pedagogical direction of António Carrilho, they come back renowned teachers of previous editions, as well as alumni, today with brilliant international careers.
